The Hard Truth

The Hard Truth

The Passion’s Path, Week 1: Pontius Pilate

Truth is not something we create—it simply is. But acknowledging truth and standing by it are two different things.

Pontius Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, yet he gave in to fear, pressure, and self-preservation. He asked, “What is truth?” but did not wait for an answer. Instead, he chose to remain neutral—washing his hands rather than taking a stand.

How often do we do the same? How often do we recognize what is right but hesitate to act because it is inconvenient, uncomfortable, or even costly? Do we speak up when faced with injustice, or do we let silence and compromise take over?

This Lent, let’s ask ourselves:
➡️ Do I live by truth even when it is difficult?
➡️ Are there moments when I choose comfort over conviction?
➡️ Where is God calling me to be courageous in truth today?

Truth does not rely on us to survive, but we rely on it to truly live. May we have the courage to follow truth wherever it leads.
