The Passion’s Path, Week 4: Daughters of Jerusalem
Grief is love with nowhere to go. It lingers, reshapes us, and reminds us of what we have lost.
The women who wept for Jesus teach us that grief is not weakness. It is an act of love. When we mourn, we are bearing witness to something or someone that mattered deeply.
But grief is not meant to be carried alone. Jesus does not dismiss the sorrow of the women, but He challenges them to see beyond it—to recognize the wounds of the world, the weight of sin, the need for redemption.
Lent reminds us that grief is not the end of the story. It is the soil in which healing and transformation take root. If we allow grief to turn us toward God, it can become a path to something greater—a deeper faith, a more compassionate heart, a love that refuses to let sorrow have the final word
